Renovate, Repair and Paint Rule (RRP) Class
As of April 22, 2010, the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Renovation, Repair & Paint rule (40 CFR 745) is in effect.
Under the rule, anyone disturbing more than six square feet of painted interior surfaces or twenty square feet of exterior surfaces, as part of work in homes, schools, or other buildings built before 1978, must hold an EPA certification and follow specific lead-safe work practices.
This course meets the EPA training requirements for individuals performing renovations in pre-1978 housing and childcare facilities.
This course includes activities and exercises to help you identify methods for reducing, containing, and cleaning up the dust you create.
Students who complete this course will become Certified Renovators and know how to perform all work using lead-safe practices. Students will also learn how to perform acceptance testing for their work.
