Emergencies Trigger Anti-Price Gouging Rules, 10% Cap on Rent Increases
Rent increases are limited to no more than 10%, even for properties exempt from statewide rent caps. Governor Newsom’s proclamation is in place until February 22, 2024. SCRHA will notify members if this end date is extended. Click here to see where there are state emergencies and how anti-price gouging rules apply to rental housing. Help San Diegans Displaced by the Floods
As a community service and to help SCRHA members who must relocate residents, SCRHA is compiling a list of available rentals. Many renters and homeowners have been impacted and providing immediate information on alternative shelter options is one way the rental housing industry can help in this crisis. Please take a moment to fill out the following survey if you have units available or that will become available in the near future. These can be for short term availability (1 to 3, 3 to 6 months) while repairs are completed, or for longer/traditional terms as some individuals and families may be displaced longer or have to permanently relocate. The list will be made available on the SCRHA website and shared with local government and others helping with relief efforts. Click here to add your unit(s) to the list.
