Bill to Require Emergency Phones at Apartment Pools Withdrawn
Thanks to the advocacy of SCRHA and its industry partners, the author of a bill that would have required property owners install emergency phones at rental property swimming pools. As written, the bill would have required a person or entity that owns or maintains a public swimming pool, defined to include those at rental communities, to ensure that there was an operating telephone on or adjacent to the pool deck, available and conspicuously labeled for emergency use, at all times. SCRHA opposed this unfunded mandate and is pleased it won’t be moving forward.
