State of Emergency Declared for Riverside County

Governor Newsom declared States of Emergencies for several counties due to the Airport and Bridge Fires. Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino Counties are included. Price Gouging rules specific to rental housing are in place for those counties. These rules limit rent increases to no more than 10% and also limit the amount of asking rents for properties that become vacant during the declared emergency to no more than 10% over the last amount charged. The declarations are scheduled to end on October 11, 2024, however, they can be extended by the Governor. For more information, visit the Governor's Office of Emergency Services website.
