Chula Vista Tenant Ordinance NOT Moving Forward in August

This past Friday, SCRHA received notification from City of Chula Vista Staff that the "Residential Landlord & Tenant Ordinance" will not be heard on August 9 as planned. 

As previously reported, the ordinance was originally scheduled for a vote on July 12. That hearing was rescheduled to July 26 since "not all councilmembers would be in attendance." A few weeks later SCRHA received another update that the ordinance hearing was being moved to early August. No new date for the hearing has been provided.

SCRHA thanks housing providers for staying engaged on this important issue and being patient with the numerous date changes. As of now, SCRHA has not received an updated draft ordinance, but we will provide details as soon as possible. SCRHA remains opposed to the ordinance and will continue to work to defeat it.
