SCRHA’s Lucinda Lilley Comments: Eviction Rates in San Diego Back to Pre-Pandemic Number
According to the article, in San Diego County, eviction filings peaked at more than 1,000 in October 2022, and this year have see-sawed closer to their pre-pandemic average of 723 a month. In some counties, numbers have exceeded pre-pandemic levels. SCRHA Past President Lucinda Lilley shared that eviction is the last resort and that permanent rental assistance is needed for struggling renters so housing providers don’t continue to bear the brunt.
