Reminder: County of San Diego “Small Landlord” Assistance Program Funding Available
The program designed to assist rental property owners who have not been able to access federal or state rental assistance funding has been updated to make the program more user-friendly. Owners who may qualify are encouraged to apply. Property managers, this is a great resource to share with your clients who may qualify.
The Rental Assistance for Small Landlords (RASL) program is available to rental housing providers that operate five (5) or less rental units and have rental units that have arrears from tenants and former tenants. The County will compensate rental arrears accumulated beginning April 2020, for a maximum award amount of $15,000 per unit.
Recent Program Updates:
- No longer requires three (3) months of arrears to be eligible (can apply if the unit has at least one (1) month of past due rent)
- Housing providers can reapply for additional assistance as needed, as long as the unit has not exceeded the $15,000 maximum
Active-Duty Military can apply for assistance if they do not reside within San Diego County
