SCRHA Primary Endorsements - Vote Tuesday, March 3!
With the March primary just around the corner on Tuesday, March 3, Southern California Rental Housing Association (SCRHA) wants to take a moment to make sure our members are aware of voter resources, ballot measure details, and SCRHA endorsed candidates.
SCRHA Primary Endorsements for 3/3/2020
- City of San Diego Council District 5 - Joe Leventhal
- City of San Diego Council District 7 - Noli Zosa
- Countywide Ballot - NO on Measure A
Ballot Measures
We would like to clear up any confusion about Proposition 13 on the March ballot. This measure is not related to the landmark ballot measure Proposition 13 passed by voters in 1978 (People's Initiative to Limit Property Taxation). Southern California Rental Housing Association has not taken a position on the March 2020 Prop. 13, which would authorize $15 billion in general obligation bonds for school and college facilities, including $9 billion for preschool and K-12 schools, $4 billion for universities, and $2 billion for community colleges.
Voter Resources
We encourage all members to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
The deadline to register to vote online has passed, however, voter registration can be done in-person at a Registrar of Voters office. Please Click the links below to find more voting information and election-day details for your area of residence.
Thank you for your continued membership and support of the rental housing industry. There will be much more work to come after March 3. The November 2020 General Election will have another Rent Control measure on the ballot (similar to 2018's Prop.10) and your vote will be critical to ensuring a vibrant rental housing industry for the years to come. We'll see you at the polls on Tuesday!
